E1 - FAMILY WEEKENDS

Artists’ Workshops (will take place in October). The authors will present their projects and welcome participants to the interactive creative process. Artists’ workshops will take place on weekends from 11 AM to 4 PM on October 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, and 25. Workshops will also be available during the week at designated times during museum working hours:

Oct 1st-4th from 11am to 5 pm Kakuko Ishii (Japan) MIZUHIKI WORKSHOP for every who is interesting in traditional Japanese technique. Kaunas Picture gallery. 

Oct 3rd-4th, 10th-11th and 18th-19th Marijona Sinkevičienė, Rūta Narvydienė, Sigita Saulėnienė (Lithuania) invite to weave tapestry from recycled materials.  M. Žilinskas art gallery.  

Oct 4th, 11th, 18th, 24-25th  Daiva Zubrienė and animators Vilija Ratautienė, Daiva Dovydaitienė, Rita Puidokienė, Laima Kytrienė (Lithuania) invite to interact creating textile patterns.

Oct 24th-25th Suzanne Husky (French/American) invites to sew together a colourful covering for architecture object and to dress it up with love. Kaunas Picture gallery.

Oct 24th-25th Kaarina Kellomaki (Finland) invites children to remember ancient devices and things and to create / construct future objects. Kaunas Picture gallery.

Art Labyrinth (will take place in November). The families will be guided by biennial educators. The program will take place on weekends at 2 PM on November 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, and 29th.

Diary of the Journey. After accomplishing special artistic activities the family will create it‘s own personal book which will compile the experience of biennial interactions. This book will enable children and their parents to know better artists and projects of the exhibition and to become co-authors of the book as well as of the exhibition. Sheets of the book will be placed at participating artist projects.

E2 –  SPECIAL TOURS
Different Viewpoint
. Special tours guided by famous Lithuanian cultural agents. Will take place on Wednesdays during November (4th, 11th, 18th and 25th at 3 pm). Advanced booking required, tel. 8 37 22 94 75.

E3 – CRITICAL REFLECTION
Debates.  Art critics, artists and art students will discuss about actual art tendencies, up-to-date cultural problems and the issues raised by artists of the biennial. Discussions will take place on October 9 and 23, November 27.
Location: Conference Hall at the M.K. Čiurlionis National Art Museum, Train Kaunas – Vilnius, and exhibition place.

Hemispheres: worldwide project for international solidarity.

Lectures. Artists talk on a topic based on a theoretical background for art and art history students will take place on Mondays during October at 4 AM (English without translation).

Artists and publics are invited to presentations by Biennial artists about their practice. During October (Monday - Thursday only) at 8 pm, artists will talk about and discuss their work.
