IMAGINATIONS. 2011. Installation

It is a cycle of textile works about women (could be about men, as well) fantasies, which main focus is – desire to be loved and to love. Often we do realize that we are not living the perfect life we always dreamt about, but we do not dare to face that we are simply unhappy; we lack a clear motive and courage to change ourselves and the environment around us. Then the ambition to become part of this imaginary perfect life moves to lace of fantasies, that come from personal experiences, read books, seen movies, random views in the streets, rumours… We can only liberate our fantasy and creatively dive into these never embraced experiences of imaginary situations, never felt, but deeply desired emotions, feelings and passions. Leaving decency, shame and responsibilities, we can enjoy the words – I wish, I can, I feel, I desire, I love. To experience the happiness that in real life is only a short sensory illusion.

Imaginations – it is our private beaches, which can be visited only by people that we invite. These people become performers of made-up colourful scripts, show puppets, our fantasy tools. The reality with its limited opportunities is forgotten, sense of shame and moderation is lost, and it does not matter what everyone will think and say, it is not shame to be greedy, dissipated, open, weak, sentimental, because the only spectator and assessor of these fantasies is yourself.
