COLLABORATIVE PARTICIPATORY WEEK
Kärt Ojavee (Estonia) will lead an experimental workshop on smart textiles.
The main goal of the workshop is to create a soft sensor, using smart textiles, such as conductive threads, conductive fabric etc. In order to try out of the „fabric switch“ , powersource and an output of light source (LED-s) will be attached to the sensor. All of the participants will create a different kind of the switch; the technique of making can vary: knitting, embroidering, sewing, crocheting or any other techniques can be applied.
1st day
A lecture about smart materials. Getting to know the materials. Discussions in groups of two about what kind of switches can be created.
2nd day
The groups of two present their ideas. Starting to design the switches, drawing out the scheme and choosing materials.
3rd day
Working on switches in material, realizing the ideas.
4th day
finishing the switches, presenting the results.
