Educational programme

The goal of 9th Kaunas Biennial Unitext is to develop new relations between audience and works of art, that would allow to see art as a universal text, universal (art) language, that links different experiences and viewpoints. Although, a middle-aged businessman would read a completely different story into the same artwork if compared to the first-former, but art speaks to everyone. Loosing the frame of textual interpretation, the artwork speaks in numerous voices – you can hear the voices of all, who have observed the artwork.
So, what is the meaning of unitext? What is the link between the text and the art? What does this exhibition stand for – painting, textile or sculpture? What do the visual arts have in common with music or dance? Can a student prepare for biology test and entrepreneur learn few marketing ideas in the art exhibition?
With the help of the audience, educational programme of Kaunas Biennial Unitext aims to find and release the universal language of art and use it for a dialogue, communication, sharing of information, or simply for the pleasure of conversation. Educational programme invites all visitors – families, students and teachers, seniors, men and women, entrepreneurs, scientists and artists – to know, to create and to learn (and teach) the universal language of art. Workshops, interactive projects, discussions, meetings with artists, special guided tours and many pleasant experiences are awaiting for you on the educational programme. We believe that the universal language of art will help to strengthen the old bridges and build new ones.
